Apple And Samsung Account For 94% Of India’s Smartphone Exports – Made In India Shipments Grow by 6%

In a recent news update Samsung and Apple have led up to a 94% proportion of overall Indian Smartphone exports. The new statistics were released by Counterpoint’s ‘Make India” Service on Thursday. The smartphone shipments from India grew by 6% year on year in 2024. The exports numbers have been primarily driven by these two brands whose profound recognition overseas has helped as well. 

 

Both the brands have been able to expand their manufacturing base in India and their production prowess has now been able to align with the country’s global objectives of reducing the dependence on imports and strengthening its presence in the global market supply chains.

Brand Wise Growth Stats

Samsung had been able to retain its position as a top smartphone manufacturer in India in 2024, The brand has been able to showcase a 7% YOY growth and driven by a 1% YOY increase in Exports. 

Vivo  gained the second spot with a 14% YOY growth to capture a 14% shipment share. Foxconn Hon Hai manufacturing Volumes grew 19% YOY in 2024 backed by Apple iPhone 14, iphone 15 and iphone 13 Models.
